Our head designer Leo Scarff in conjunction with McGarty Design has recently completed work on the interior for the new Cavan Digital Hub in Cavan town. The project for Cavan County Council took over 18 months of planning, design, manufacture and site work and Hiberform was delighted to be involved in the design and manufacture of several key pieces of furniture for the building. On entering the building to a simple reception a staircase and lift leads you to the main floor with a large open plan space emcompassing hot desk area, a large canteen, boardroom, a large training space, breakout areas and toilet facilities.
Key Hiberform products included are our postbox and Caddy mobile office storage units all housed in a minimal Birch Plywood unit. Our Campaign coatstand can be seen throughout the building adding vital coat storage for users availing of the hot desk facilities. Custom designed and built for the project are our new Dodeca Meeting pods which Scarff developed over several months through a series of models and prototypes. These pods offer a striking informal meeting area for 4 seated inside and a further 1/2 outside and contain a pendant light, pentagonal shaped table and a power module. They can be ordered in natural Birch Plywood or any BS lacquer colour to order.
Scarff designed several other custom furniture and lighting pieces such as the ‘Wing’ high table in the breakout space, the eye catching yellow kitchens specifically created for multi-user storage and several solid Ash ‘Array’ screens.
Three more upper floors contain a variety of office spaces for companies of different sizes with the hub colour scheme carried through in carpets, wall colours, graphics and furniture finishes. The hub will launch this month and open it’s doors to house local small companies wishing to expand and develop their businesses in a professional environment.
